The 'Groene Honden, Jong Ontwerp' (Green Dogs, Young Design) Foundation is initiated by 13 recently graduated designers to create a platform for fresh and bold Dutch design. Their goal is not only to exhibit their own projects but also to launch new projects and to collectively design products. Instead of waiting for someone else to provide the exposure they were looking for, these 13 up and coming young designers joined forces and took matters into their own hands.
The first official 'Groene Honden, Jong Ontwerp' exhibition was opened on the 22th of February of 2007 in the 'Pastoe Fabriek' in Utrecht. Since then the Foundation has collectively participated in 'Art Camp', the official graduation show of the Utrecht School of the Arts in June, and the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven in October of 2007. That same year a temporary store was opened in the centre of Amsterdam under the name 'S.u.p.e.r.g.r.e.e.n.'.
This year (2008) The 'Groene Honden, Jong Ontwerp' Foundation opened a small concept-store inside the Dutch Design Centre in Utrecht, showed their latest work in Milan during the International Furniture Fair, and this summer they participated in two new projects; de Nieuwe Salon in Utrecht and Strandleven in Zandvoort (near Haarlem).
